What are leave-in-conditioners?

My hair is exteremely curly and the only thing I can do with it is put it up in a ponytail everyday. Straightening irons don't work for me and it's too expensive to go to a salon. CHI straighteners are expensive too. When I brush my hair in the shower with conditioner my curls become bigger. How can I keep them that way? Because when I get out of the shower and brush my hair, it's curly again. And when I say curly, I mean my curls are the size of an eraser on a pencil. What can help my curls stay the way they are in the shower? What are leave-in-conditioners?
My hair is extremely curly too.. i feel your pain. what i do is when i get out of the shower i squirt my hair with leave in conditioner, then brush out my hair with a wide tooth comb. then i put an anti-frizz cream(sunsilk), a curl defining mousse(panteen), and hairspray(Panteen ice shine). I am always happy with the way it turns out and it doesn't take as long as it sounds. it only takes less than five minutes. oh...and i let my hair air dry...if you do use a hair dryer attach a diffuser on the end and it wont make it BIG! i hope that works out for you! What are leave-in-conditioners?
A conditioner that softens your hair
Conditioners that you leave in. To deeply moisturize. Did that make any sense?
a conditioner that you leave in and dont wash out i put mine in after i get out of the shower. you use it to keep your hair from drying out from the staightening, blow drying. it keeps the hair protected against breaking off and feeling like straw. Protein packs are really good for that also.
Leave in a conditioner, tie it back in a pony tail, go out in the sun. Go home, wash it out, and style it with straighteners.

Also try using oils.

another solution is a hair cut, get your hair trimmed, layered, feathered and straighten.

Save up for straighteners that will straighten your hair from damp-dry.

There are plenty of affordable salon conditioners to turn curls, to straight.
A leave-in conditioner is applied to damp hair after you get out of the shower. Don't rinse it out, just comb it through.
my hair is super thick and i got a Conair straightner for just 39.99 canadian its really good. or u can go to the store and get curl definer its under 10 $ around $5 or get leave in conditioner. Leave in conditioner is pretty good get the herbal essences one ,

A leave in conditioner can nourish your hair the same way a moisturizer nourishes your face. And it is especially important if you are in the sun on a regular basis (be sure to look for one containing sunscreen).

Its basically helps keep ur hair healthy and not damamged

hope this helps
Don't bother with a leave in conditioner. Those are to nourish, but not tame. Try a hair gloss. Biosilk is the best - you can buy it at salons, Target and Ulta, but it's really expensive. My favorite is Proclaim because I can afford it. I can only find it at Sally Beauty Supply. It's $6 a bottle. It works - trust me.
It's really hard to make your culrs looser. Try burshing it in the shower as you have but usuing shampoos/conditioners just for curls- ones that ';relax'; your hair. Or try a hevaier conditioner- it weihgs down your urls and makes htem looser.,
a conditioner that you leave in your hair
i would try a wet gel they work well. leave in conditioners tho are conditioners u dont wash out with water.
You should use leave-in conditioners, which are conditioners that u put on your hair after you wash it or even when its dry and its supposed to make your hair healthier and prettier. It should work for your curls ( It worked for me ). Also, you can buy a good one at a beauty supply like Sally and they are not expensive. They usually cost like twelve dollars. Well, good luck with your curls. Hope this helps. :)
You could use a leave in conditioner or leave in regular conditioner. If you wash your hair everyday. You could also use mouse with fizz ease it's kind of expensive but it works.
leave-in conditioners are the conditioners you can use after you shower but that won't weigh down your hair as much.

If you want big curls then you woul dhave to use ginormous curlers most likely, or blowdry your hair with a big Round brush.
do not brush your hair again when you get out of the shower, you can use garnier fructis curl n shine leave in and use your fingers to work it through your hair, then you can either air dry or use a blow dryer that has a diffuser on it
First off, never brush curls like yours. Ever. Unless, of course, you're going for the Golden Girls halo. Try a wide-tooth comb if you absolutely have to. Leave-in conditioners are a good option. Infusium is a good, inexpensive option and the scent is nice. As far as a great product line, try Ouidad. It's a fantastic line, especially since the creator has curly hair herself. Minnie Driver and Julianna Margulies are both fans. And the website is full of great tips.
